Swimming Pool Building Process
Our Swimming Pool Building Process
The pool building process is a multi-step process that our experienced pool building staff will guide you through every step of the way. Below is an overview of what will take place when you are building a swimming pool.
Initial client Meeting
During this consultation, a Cabana Pools Aquatech designer will come to your home to evaluate your property, walk you through the pool building process and answer your questions about owning a swimming pool. During this visit we will be looking for things such as utility locations and best access areas for construction. We will also need a scaled property survey showing all property lines, easements, and the location of your home on your lot.
Design
After the initial meeting, an experienced Cabana Pools Aquatech designer will unite your ideas with our design experience to create an original design. We use a drafting program called AutoCad and a 3D rendering program that will bring the design of your pool and property to life.
Permits
We obtain all county and or city permits required in order to start the construction of your swimming pool.
Excavation
A Cabana Pools Aquatech construction manager will do a stakeout of your pool based on your design. Once you approve the stakeout we are ready to dig and one of our expert contractors will excavate your pool!
Steel
Steel reinforcements will be placed in a box style on the sides and bottom of your pool in order to form the structure of the pool. The size and spacing of steel is determined by industry standards along with soil expansiveness.
Plumbing
The plumbing is hydraulically designed to take advantage of the most efficient equipment on the market.
Gunite
This is the process of cement, sand, and aggregate applied under high pressure to bind tightly around the steel. This results in a very strong structure.
Electric
Certified, licensed electricians hook up your main electric service to your pool equipment.
Tile & Coping
Coping is the material that is installed around the perimeter of your pool. Tile is the material typically located at the waterline of a pool. All materials are professionally set in place and leveled.
Deck
There are many decking options and colors to choose from to create that perfect compliment to your pool.
Plaster
Plaster is the last step in the construction of your pool. The plaster is a hand-troweled finish. Once this is complete, it’s time to add the water!
Pool School
After the pool is filled with water and the chemicals are balanced, a Cabana Pools Aquatech construction manager will meet with you to teach you about the operation of your pool. We refer to this as “pool school”. We also offer a weekly maintenance program if you decide you would rather leave the maintenance up to a professional.
